Boxing Poem

The Boxer Who Can't Find A Win


Bull charge!
Whirl!
(sidestep whiffer),

And zings!
Bob, duck,
Joggle. Hair's

Curl. Eyes
Spill. It's
Over. A man

Spraying water.
And the judges
Unanimous in

Their bikini
Judgment. And the
Boxer, still not

A win.
Someone chucks
A cup. The

Crowd boos.
A thrown
Mint. Anything.

Another hooHoo.
And the
Boxer knows.

Wait until that
Boy checks
The mirror.

He'll know.
Later, perhaps,
The slugger

Chugs at his
Local bar.
His pals

Buy drink after
Drink, (a different
type of round.) The

Boxer thinks, this
Isn't perfection.
That'll be

Heaven. His pals
Toasting, "Man
You got

Heart, those
Judges."
Eyes down,

Heads
Synchronized
Swivel.
