The Uptake of the Disappointment Concept Poetry Book Kemal Faruquee

Letter Written To No One

Letter having
No one, no place
No someone to
Ponder of

Understand something
Blue of dumb or
Inexplicit singularity
Aspect which lessens

And enhances daily
Encounter: an eyelash,
Dead leaf, newspaper, or
Whisker; the fundamental

Quality or melancholy of
Everything for a
Man reciting
Prayers in

A box.consoled
By the strangely
Permanent: a cat
Under the bedspread,

Or chewing a
Plant, or simply
In motion observing
A man

With no audience,
No stamp.
Two new shoes
And he's broke

For a month.
And everything unsaid.
Mother, father,
Understand this

Potion, excuse me,
Notion, my words
Were cement.
My friend, see,

This person, this
Voice.I'm now
Sleeping on a
Spider's web with

A mind defective
Which refuses
To efface anything.
I'd like to

Speak to a
Baby bird or
A smart bird
Or a watercolor

Bird and have
The bird tell
Me that congruence
Isn't so,

Or completely
Unexplain joy-
Or tell me in
Detail about its

Favorite things
Like worms and
Seeds and God
And puffy greys.

*Why am I listing poems by genre now? Because it makes it easier for searchers who are looking for a poem on a particular topic. Is it somewhat reductive to categorize in this way? Yes, a bit...but, it allows more people to find my writings; so, it's a concession that I can live with...kf
